Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today was Daddy's birthday and we have been celebrating all week! This past weekend, we visited some friends down at Josh and Hannah's BBQ and then went down and visited Grammie and Grampie Baptiste down at the Cape. We were excited that we got to relax together throughout the weekend. Here are some recent photos of Daddy and Alice. Happy Birthday Scott!

Alice Sees Herself

No, that is not Alice and her twin sister. She discovered herself in the mirror this week and she is very interested in this baby in the mirror!

So cute!

Also, we have started to try to put her on her tummy a bit, but she is not a big fan of that just yet. It seems as though she gets very frustrated as she wants to be on the move already!

We hope everyone has had a great weekend! We have enjoyed a really nice, relaxing one.

2 Months Old!

Alice celebrated her 2 Month Birthday with another photo shoot with Mommy. There were lots of great pictures of both of them playing on the floor. A couple of the pictures are below, but check out the online album (here) to see the rest.

Of course we updated the slide show which shows Alice growing with Duckie...

Unfortunately, Mommy would not let Daddy upload this one to the slideshow!

Auntie Bethany Returns - Happy 4th of July!

You may have noticed from the baptism photos that Auntie Bethany was back in town. We were so happy to have the chance to visit with her once again and this time, she brought CJ along for the long weekend! They arrived in time for the baptism and Bethany stayed for a week.

Alice was happy to have the chance to bond some more with her Auntie Bethany.

The week was lots of fun and Auntie Chris even took one day off of work to come visit with Auntie Bethany and Alice while Mommy got some work done.

Auntie Bethany brought Alice some sandals to wear this summer. Since she wanted to be just like her Daddy, Alice made sure to wear some socks with her sandals.

Here are the photos from Auntie Bethany's visit.

While Bethany was visiting, Uncle Dan and Auntie Chris invited us to come stay overnight with them down in Marion for the 4th of July. Alice had her very first overnight trip (other than those first few nights at the hospital!) and she did great! She was very much in the 4th of July spirit.

We had a cookout for dinner and after Alice went to bed, Danny and Chris, Scott, Lisa and Bethany stayed up and played games late into the night. The next morning, we all took a walk and Alice had her first impromptu trip to the beach. As you can tell, she loved it!

It was a great weekend! Many thanks to Danny and Chris for inviting us. Also, many thanks to Bethany and CJ for making the trip out - we miss you already and can't wait to see you again soon! Here are the rest of the photos from the 4th of July weekend.

Enjoy!

LOL in the Tub

Today Alice hit a surprising milestone when she started to giggle in the tub! It was possibly the cutest thing she had ever done and it took both of us by surprise. Scott immediately ran for the video camera and the results are below.

As you can see, there was not laughing on the video... but it wasn't for lack of trying on our parts. We tried again later in the day to catch her with some smiles in another of her many photo shoots. Here is a video of Alice trying to please the the paparazzi.

The results of the photo shoot are here.

A Star is Baptized

On June 27th, 2009 we held a very special home baptism ceremony and reception for Alice at the Baptiste home in Middleboro. Lisa's parents, Grammie and Grampie Baptiste, were so generous in happily lending their home for the occasion. The set-up included everything from party tents to tables and chairs to pink balloons to sandwiches and Lisa's mom even made 20 pounds of potato salad! Uncle Danny picked up most of the food from BJ's that morning. Grandma Marcia brought her recipe for "cookie salad" which was a big hit at the party with many requests for the recipe. We appreciate everything that everyone did to make the day so special. Thanks!

Alice's loved ones were with us to celebrate from near and far for the baptism ceremony and the party that followed. We estimate that there were approximately 60 people there, from as close as across town and as far as California, Florida, North Dakota, South Dakota and New Jersey! The living room was packed for the ceremony. Our daughter is so blessed to be surrounded by so much love. Many thanks to all for coming to celebrate with us!

The ceremony was officiated by Alice's Uncle Brandon Vetter, who was in town from South Dakota (Auntie Vicky helped to plan the ceremony). Alice's Godparents, Auntie Bethany and Uncle Eric, were in town from California and North Dakota, respectively. Uncle Dan and Auntie Chris took part in the ceremony by reading a special passage. It was a very special and moving ceremony.

With all of the rainy weather we have had this summer, we were so happy to have a gorgeous sunny day for the party.

Here is a link to the short video of the ceremony (Thanks, Liz & Steve!):
