Weekends in September

Not a lot to report these days.  Alice is getting bigger and more slobbery every day.  She had her four month appointment this past week where she weighed in at a 14.0 lbs! Big girl!  Just this past night she slept in 6-mo pj's!

She has a couple new tricks up her sleeve these days.  She has learned to cross her fingers, suck on her upper lip and chew on her feet.  She also finds it hilarious if you do any of the above back to her!

Its been a good September and we are looking forward to October.  Who knows what she will be for Halloween.  Perhaps someone will leave a great comment to this post and we will be inspired!  More pictures are here, enjoy!

4 Months Old!

Alice is 4 months old and we can't believe how quickly the time has passed.  We are impressed with how grown up she seems already.

Tonight Alice had her monthly "ducky" photo shoot.  Here is a link to all of the ducky photos.  Enjoy!

We've got a roller!

We have not had too many adventures recently, but have enjoyed hanging out together at home.  It was a bit of a rainy weekend here in Massachusetts, so it was nice to have a chance to relax and catch up on our rest!  Alice has been growing and changing so much recently.  It is hard to believe that she is already almost 4 months old!

Here are some of her recent fun experiences.  First, here she is seconds after rolling over by herself for the first time (9/11/09):

She was so proud of herself!

Alice has been really enjoying spending time on her tummy, which is a change.  Until recently, she was not so excited about it and preferred lying on her back.  Now, we usually get big smiles when she is on her tummy, so it was inevitable that the roll-over would be coming soon!:

We recently broke out the "jumparoo" that we received as a shower gift.  Alice is just too short for it, so we ended up putting it back away for a few weeks, but she did enjoy giving it a test run:

When the kids across the country watched President Obama's message to them on the first day of school, Alice and Nonee were not left out.  They watched the speech as well, and Alice really seemed to enjoy it!:

Alice is also enjoying sitting in her Bumbo chair:

We have been making an effort to eat at the table with her in the Bumbo chair so that she can watch us.  She is very interested, as you can see.  We were told at her last doctor's appointment that she may get the ok to start eating some food at her 4 month appointment, which is this Wednesday.  She will be so happy!

Since she has been so constantly drooly, we decided to try and move her to her highchair while we eat at the table.  Here she is trying it out for the first time.  She isn't 100% convinced yet that the highchair is fun, but we imagine that will change when she can eat food in it!:

Here is a link to the rest of the recent photos.  Have a great day!

Splish Splash!

Alice had her first bath in the bathtub today and for good reason!  As you can see from the video, there was a lot of spashing around in the tub!

Once the bath was over it was off to bed for little Alice and Mommy and Daddy, especially being that we all had taken our bathes for the night.

Bridging the Nations

This weekend, our good friends Matt and Jenn Heuft made the drive down to visit us from Canada.  Since we have last seen them, each of our families have grown from 2 to 3, so we had a great time meeting the little ones and introducing them to each other.  Here are Alice and Melanie, shortly after meeting:

The girls became fast friends and the parents had fun catching up and relaxing together as well!

Scott read Melanie and Alice some stories.  Melanie got Scott's nose.

Melanie turned 10 months old while she was visiting us.  Alice is nearly 4 months old.  Alice enjoyed taking notes from Melanie on everything from eating food, crawling, teething, sit up unassisted and take a bath in the real bathtub.  It won't be long before Alice is doing all of these things herself!

Both girls are so sweet and happy and have particularly infectious smiles.  Here is Melanie showing off hers with her Dad:

Here are the girls bridging the nations:

We are pretty sure that it will be our turn to visit Canada next (unless we all end up on vacation together somewhere in the middle, like Las Vegas!) and Alice can't wait to see her new friend again!

Here are all of the photos from the weekend.  Enjoy!
