A Star is Baptized

On June 27th, 2009 we held a very special home baptism ceremony and reception for Alice at the Baptiste home in Middleboro. Lisa's parents, Grammie and Grampie Baptiste, were so generous in happily lending their home for the occasion. The set-up included everything from party tents to tables and chairs to pink balloons to sandwiches and Lisa's mom even made 20 pounds of potato salad! Uncle Danny picked up most of the food from BJ's that morning. Grandma Marcia brought her recipe for "cookie salad" which was a big hit at the party with many requests for the recipe. We appreciate everything that everyone did to make the day so special. Thanks!

Alice's loved ones were with us to celebrate from near and far for the baptism ceremony and the party that followed. We estimate that there were approximately 60 people there, from as close as across town and as far as California, Florida, North Dakota, South Dakota and New Jersey! The living room was packed for the ceremony. Our daughter is so blessed to be surrounded by so much love. Many thanks to all for coming to celebrate with us!

The ceremony was officiated by Alice's Uncle Brandon Vetter, who was in town from South Dakota (Auntie Vicky helped to plan the ceremony). Alice's Godparents, Auntie Bethany and Uncle Eric, were in town from California and North Dakota, respectively. Uncle Dan and Auntie Chris took part in the ceremony by reading a special passage. It was a very special and moving ceremony.

With all of the rainy weather we have had this summer, we were so happy to have a gorgeous sunny day for the party.

Here is a link to the short video of the ceremony (Thanks, Liz & Steve!):

And here are a few photos from the day:

  1. Truly a wonderful day. So glad that we were there. Thanks again to Grammie Chris for ALL her hard work. The day just flowed. The sign of a great hostess. God is blessing Alice everyday.
    Love you all.
