Six Flags Great Adventure!

As part of the Birthday weekend, we continued our travels to Six Flags in New Jersey.

To say that Alice had a good time would be an understatement. She ran from ride to ride just to check if she was tall enough, and when she was, she was first in line.

We rode the parachutes, teacups and even the roller coaster, though sadly, Alice was not quite tall enough to ride the Batman roller coaster, strangely enough, it's the ride she talks about the most!

A GREAT Birthday surprise! Thanks Lisa!

Six Flags Safari!

We began our day at Six Flags by taking a car ride through the Wild Safari area.

Alice had a chance to see elephants:

Bears:

And many other animals:

It was a fun start to the day!  Here are some more shots of the animals we saw along the way.  Enjoy!

Deluxe Alice

Part of the fun of our weekend away was spending nights in different hotels as we made our way from fun excursion to fun excursion across New York and New Jersey.

Here are Alice and Bobo, enjoying their bed (and the rare treat of being able to watch TV in bed) at one of our hotel rooms along the way!

At a roadside restaurant where we stopped for dinner one evening, Alice was so thirsty from a day of extreme fun, she needed a lot of water for refreshment!:
The ultimate in luxury... Alice relaxes in a hotel room bed with a face mask!

And of course, waking up to cupcakes in bed can't be matched!

Happy Wedding, Matt & Ian!

Mommy's good friend, Matt, from Middleboro, got married this weekend in New Jersey to the love of his life, Ian, and we were blessed to be able to join them for the celebration.

The ceremony was great!  It had to be moved indoors at the last minute due to a rainstorm, but the rain could not keep the love from that room.  There were a couple of hundred people in attendance who gave them two giant standing ovations during the ceremony!

They wrote their own vows which were sweet and funny:

Yay, married!!
They did an amazing job decorating for the reception:
We had a really great time!  Thank you so much for having us, Matt and Ian!  Here we are with the 'Blushing Grooms':

The Wonder of Coney Island

We spent Daddy's birthday at one of the most nostalgic places around - Coney Island!

We stayed with Daddy's Great Uncle Dennis and Great Aunt Sue while we were in NYC, and they joined us for the day at Coney Island.

Our first stop, of course, was Nathan's for a famous hot dog!

Then it was time for the rides, and Alice was feeling brave!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Thanks for such a fun day, Dennis and Sue!
At the end of the day, we surprised Daddy with a super yummy cake which we secretly had custom made for him by Dennis and Sue's neighbor.

It was a super fun day!  Here are the rest of our photos from Daddy's birthday adventures.

Happy 35th Birthday, Daddy!

It's hard to believe, but our amazing Daddy is 35 years old!  Happy Birthday, Daddy!

We love you so much!  Our life is so much fun because we have you!
We have a fun, exciting long weekend planned for you and can't wait to celebrate your awesome first 35 years all weekend, and toast to your next 35!  We love you!  Here are some more photos of our excitement about your birthday!

Train Ride to NYC

To celebrate Daddy's upcoming birthday, Mommy organized a fun long weekend away, starting with Alice's first Amtrak train trip from Boston to NYC!

Here she is, excitedly showing off her ticket:

(It was Bobo's first train ride, too!)
Alice enjoyed watching out the window as the train sped along, and enjoyed checking out the cafe car, doing puzzles, and watching movies and playing games on the iPad with Mommy and Daddy:

Summertime... and the Livin' is Easy...

We have come to appreciate that there is nothing like Summer in Salem.  We have really been living the dream this Summer.  Our dreams were always simple - being able to grill and eat outside and enjoy our yard, and we have been thrilled to be able to do just that...

We are also very often thrilled by all of our wonderful neighbors!  Alice has many friends in the neighborhood.  Recently, she and a couple of friends had an impromptu slip-and-slide game!

Yay, Summertime!
