We have now made it to single digits in the baby countdown, assuming this little one shows up on time! As of today we are 9 days until the baby is due... also known as next Wednesday. The good news is the weather forecast is for 65 and sunny, the scary part is that the due date now falls within the 10 day forecast!
We did take the opportunity to have a little date night this past weekend. Here we are at the Melting Pot. Lisa didn't really want to go for dinner, she just wanted to go for the chocolate fondue. As you can see in the picture, lots of fruits, cakes and chocolate goodies were on the plate ready to be dunked. I'm sure the baby loved it as much as Lisa.
We also got some more organizing finished in the nursery. Here is a look at some of the clothes and blankets we got from the shower. Lisa has now put almost all the clothes and bedding through the washing machine, so its now baby ready! (Hope we are too!)
Other than cleaning up, eating out and generally taking it easy, we don't have much to update today. Once the baby comes, we are planning on trying to get the message out as quickly as possible. We are planning on sending out a mass text-message and we will post on facebook, so look for updates there for the word once the baby comes, and of course come back here for lots of photos and videos after the baby has arrived.
Here are the rest of the pics from the nursery organizing.

2 Weeks to Go**
(**Or 3 weeks... or 2 days... or 4 weeks... or today!)
We have now hit the 38 week mark, which is well within the safe range for having a baby. In fact, last week (37 weeks) our baby was technically considered "full term" which was an exciting milestone! We have been doing lots to prepare for the baby recently - childbirth classes, organizing the nursery, finishing sewing, and enjoying these last few weeks together as a family of two! We are looking forward to meeting the baby, but we (Lisa in particular) have a lot to do still at work before taking time off, so we are hoping the baby will relax and enjoy itself in there for just a bit longer!
As promised, here are some photos of Lisa and her mom finishing up sewing for the nursery. It is really starting to look great!
Mom, after finishing the curtains:

We are looking forward to meeting our baby really soon - we will be sure to keep you updated as the time gets closer!

Surprise!
Last Saturday, we were pleasantly surprised with a baby shower by family and friends! Bethany arrived in Boston at 5:00am off a red-eye flight from California, and then a little later in the day, the three of us drove down to Middleboro. When we arrived, the house was packed full of loved ones. It was a wonderful day!
Bethany was in charge of the games for the day, and did a great job preparing for and presenting them to all the guests. We played the clothespin game, the "left-right" game, the baby scramble and the memory game - everyone had lots of fun.
We were overwhelmed with all of the wonderful gifts we received. We can't imagine anything else that we will need - once all these gifts are organized and put away (another story for another post!) we will be pretty much ready to welcome our little baby.
Our baby received so many amazing gifts! Here are a few:
Of course, the baby's first Red Sox cap!:
Lots of adorable ducky themed items to go with our nursery:
Lots of baby gear, such as this "Jumparoo" - It looks like fun!:
We are so thankful to Mom, Bethany and Chris as well as all of our friends and family who came to help prepare for the shower and celebrate with us!
We already love this baby so much and we are so grateful to be surrounded by so many family members and friends who are so excited to welcome the little one:
It won't be long now!
Many thanks to Stephanie and Aunt Ricky for taking lots of great photos (and also for traveling up from Florida for the shower!). You can check out the rest of the album here. Enjoy!

The New Cornflake Brand
Being that we don't know if we are having a boy or a girl, we have been stuck with referring to our baby-to-be in gender neutral terms. Usually we end up calling the baby, "Baby" but we also refer to it as "Baby Cornflake" and now the world knows for sure.
Today in the mail we received a box of personalized onsies for baby Cornflake with its name proudly displayed in a number of fashions. These are all the work of the talented, contemporary artist known to some as "Papa Pete."
I'm sure baby Cornflake will love these new additions to the wardrobe and will wear them with pride. Mommy and Daddy here sure love them! Individual photos can be seen here.

Scott and Lisa - Before the Baby
Probably in a few weeks we won't even remember all the good times we had before the baby came into our lives... this is probably a side effect of whiffing too many diapers. But to remind us and bring a smile to Grandparent's faces, here are some photos of us highlighting some good times over the past eight plus years.
Why aren't you on Skype yet?
Really, if you can read this blog, then you are technically savvy enough to video chat! (No joke, even my MOM can do it! Proof positive below!) If you have a computer and a video camera, come join the fun! This will be the best way to see the baby on a regular basis, whether you live in Middleboro or Middle-o-nowhere (ie ND).
We hope to see you online soon!

Boy or Girl... WE KNOW! Do YOU!?!
After a series of very precise high-tech scientific experiments, Lisa and I have finally deduced, without a doubt, the gender of our baby to be. Now the question is whether you know too! Today we are 36 weeks pregnant (also known as 9 months!) if you think you know when the baby will finally come and whether it will be a boy or girl, make sure to vote using the link to the right. The winner gets an autographed picture from the baby!
Below is a picture from the gender determining experiment:

Surprise! Its a Girl! (visiting from California!)
We had a surprise visitor this past weekend, Bethany! (Lisa's sister from California) Bethany flew in on a red eye on Saturday morning at 5:00am (which is why she is so awake in this photo and Lisa is kinda sleepy). She came to Boston to see Lisa and make sure that she was really pregnant and not just faking to get cool presents. She also wanted to help get the nursery furnished... and we put her to work right away.
After the baby shower on Saturday (more on that later!) we had lots of new things to put together, one of which was the Pack-N-Play, a favorite of Grampie Steve. We got the whole thing together with only a brief look at the directions, and from the looks of it, its baby ready!
We also put the stroller / car seat contraption put together. Bethany is seen here expressing our collective joy.
Finally, before she had to head back to California on Sunday night, Bethany wanted to show us that she is ready to be the best Auntie ever by demonstrating her mad-rocking-skillz (yes, skillz with a Z!)

Milestone - "35/35"!!!
Today, we are recognizing the crazy fact that we are both 35 weeks into the pregnancy and we have only 35 days remaining! Kind of cool, but hard to believe all at the same time.
I (Lisa) have been feeling pretty good, which is great. Everything like sewing and other baby preparations have taken a back seat for the moment to preparing my company and office to continue to succeed while I am less available in a month or so. I have a couple of financial plans that I am finishing up for clients over the next week and a half. I am working hard on them and as you can see from the above picture, our baby has grown to the point that I can now use it as a mousepad! The baby is happy to help the company succeed!
This past weekend, my new employee, Leah Hanson, who is in the process of moving into a new apartment, came over and picked up a few pieces of furniture that no longer fit in our house, but will be perfect for her new place. Once those pieces were out of the way, Scott and I were finally able to move a few things around in the front room and hang some pictures.
Here is Scott, putting our baseball display case back up on the wall and some other pictures and items above the fireplace:
We have also finally moved the baby swing into the front room so that once the baby is here, we can all spend some time together in the front room:
It's all coming together and so quickly! We will be sure to keep you updated as there are many other pregnancy milestones coming up over the next few weeks.
